MARK L SHAFFER of APOLLO, Pennsylvania, USA scored a hole-in-one on 06/24/08. The ace occurred on Hole 4, a par 3, 169yd hole at Apollo Elks Country Club located in Apollo, Pennsylvania, USA.

MARK scored the hole-in-one with a 4 Iron and had this to say about it:

"It was Men’s Golf League day as the wind was in our face and the No. 4 tee box was set back. There was a blue flag on the back of the green, making the hole longer than normal. I figured it was playing about 170 yards and decided to use a 4-iron. I approached the shot by fading it into the wind. As I hit the ball my playing partner, Mark Guthrie, commented on what a great shot it was. As I was picking up my tee he screamed, "It went in! The ball disappeared! It went in the hole!" Personally, I never saw it drop, but it was a great shot for a hole-in-one! I used a Callaway X-18 4-iron and a Callaway HX Hot Bite golf ball."
